Rain, rain go away…Junior individual gold medalists Sadie Lahey and Up To Date P had the misfortune of competing during a heavy downpour in the freestyle competition and placed fifth in that competition.

The eventual Junior silver medalists in freestyle Monica Houweling and Stentano from Canada entered the Rolex stadium and warmed up around the outside of the dressage arena only to have the judges send them back to the stables because of the heavy rain and lightening. They came back three hours later to score 67.70 to finish second behind her fellow Canadian Sarah Loewen riding Ricardo.

The officials did their best to cope with the sudden heavy downpour, but eventually had to call a hold to the competition due to excessive lightening and a subsequent power outage. The competition resumed three hours later.
